I have a dimpled chin, am i a candidate for wrinkle relaxers?

Wrinkle relaxers (also known as anti wrinkle injections) can be useful if you have noticed the skin dimpling on your chin or you have a horizontal chin crease.

A chin crease and the dimpling occurs due to the repeated contraction of the chin muscle, the mentalis muscle.

how can wrinkle relaxers improve my chin?

Wrinkle relaxers (anti wrinkle injections) can be used to reduce and prevent the appearance of dimpling. A low dose is placed into the lower part of the mentalis muscle to reduce the muscle contraction. It can also reduce a chin crease over time with repeated treatments.

Additionally, dermal filler can be used for chin contouring, facial shaping and to fill a chin crease that is quite deep.

what does treatment involve?

I will provide a thorough consultation prior to any treatments.
Photographs will be taken to assess your results.
The treatment involves small injections using a fine needle.
Discomfort is generally minimal and brief, and no anaesthetic is usually required.
The anti wrinkle injections (wrinkle relaxers) generally take around 10-15 minutes.

what to expect after treatment

Following anti-wrinkle injections (wrinkle relaxers) there may be mild swelling and redness at the injection points and occasionally bruising.

Normal activities can be resumed and you can definitely return to work.

There are some general precautions that should be taken to reduce the risks of side effects and to obtain the best results. Angela will provide you with your aftercare instructions.

You will be requested to return to the clinic 2 weeks following your treatment to assess your results.

are there any risks?

Injection related after effects can include slight redness, bruising and mild pain.

There is a very low risk of asymmetry of the lower lip and mouth which can occur if a neighbouring muscle called the depressor anguli oris (DLI) is affected. This is rare and is temporary.

Your safety is paramount. I have extensive experience and all measures will be taken with technique to minimise complications.

Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an underlying neurological condition such as Myasthena Gravis cannot be treated with anti wrinkle injections (wrinkle relaxers).

how long do results last?

Results are not instant following anti wrinkle injections, they will evolve over 2 weeks.

Longevity of results is approximately 3 months however this will vary from patient to patient.

Longevity of results will be discussed at your consultation.

what is the cost?

At Attentive Aesthetics I am completely transparent and charge by the unit (not the area) as no two faces are the same. This way it is easy for the patient to understand exactly what they are getting and paying for. I do however have a minimum fee of $150 if you are only having wrinkle relaxer treatment.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) prohibits the advertisement (including price) of prescription only medicine, which may be utilised for your rejuvenation treatment.
